I loved this app. But agree with one review that asks what happened. Among other things podcasts disappear; makes it difficult to create playlists one wants. Thought all this would be fixed. Please fix. Havent found a replacement.

Love, love, love! This app makes it easy to add new podcasts and group them into playlists. Its a nicely polished, easy to use, and well worth the money! The developer really supports the app and updates it on a regular basis. One great feature I like is that it will update the podcasts when you get to a user-defined geolocation. Meaning, when I pull back into my driveway the app will update my podcast feed. Sweet! I really, really, really like the gestures which makes it easy to skip/reverse while keeping my eyes on the road. --- Wish List --- - I do still wish for a time-update, so before I wake up in the morning, my podcasts would be automatically updated. [crossing fingers] - the podcasts should be able to be positioned (in a list form) in the order I want to have them play. The old-school way of giving them a rank from 1-10 is a bit clunky. ------

I loved Downcast, but this UI bug has made it basically unusable. A month and a half is plenty of time to fix it, or even acknowledge that there is a problem on your website or twitter. Overcast may be ugly, but at least it works. Id pay a monthly subscription just like Netflix to use this app if you kept it up to date, but instead Marcos going to get that money for an app I dont like as much.

It does almost everything I need it to do. It even seems to be downloading automatically on its on now which is what I always wanted but its best features are that it will download podcasts, keep the number of each individual podcast you specify, allow you to order them, group them, and share them. But my only remaining wishes would be I wish there was a way to force my favorite episodes to get downloaded by iTunes to keep or at least a way to keep episodes permanently. And even better to get an episode by episode indicator of which are most liked so you know which are the great episodes like feedly with rss articles.

Ive been using this for many years and it is still one of the best podcast apps out there. Great for audiobooks and music too. Lots of playback and playlist options such as playback speed, pre-post roll skip, and media type filters.

Ive used this podcast player religiously since my iPhone 3GS but I cannot continue to use it with the current poor functionality. The playlist does not update when episodes are downloaded, listened to or deleted. The app stops playing mid-podcast and it freezes or blank-screens constantly. I love this player, but cannot continue to use it until it is updated.

I dont know why everyone doesnt use Downcast or know how great it is. Never once had a problem.

Enjoyed it on prior operating system but the iOS 10 interface doesnt display the podcasts in the played unplaced section properly

I have loved the app for years and been very happy with it until iOS10. There have been many bugs and no support or updates at all. Currently my biggest problem are constant crashes while running through Bluetooth in my car. Sadly, Im going to have to switch to a new podcasting app since I cant keep restarting the program manually and searching through to find the podcast I was listening to while driving in heavy traffic. I resisted as long as I could but since the last thing heard from Downcast was "hopefully the next iOS update will take care of it", back when iOS10 was still in beta, its obvious its not getting fixed. Goodbye Downcast, Ill miss you.

Used to be the best podcast app. But the developer is awol. No communication. He deleted his twitter history. So sad.

I have been using this app for downloading and listening to podcasts for years and I love all the ways you can customize each show or all the shows. The ONLY thing I would like to see is a playback speed between the current 1.5X and 2X....for me 2X is a bit too fast...a 1.75 I feel would be perfect. I contribute financially to this app because I find it to well worth it....I like that contributing is optional, I just hope people that enjoy the app will help the developer....it is worth it. Keep up the great work and please consider adding some more playback speeds!!

This is a great app. Always bringing new and useful functionalities. I still use it on my old iPod touch, as well as in my current iPhone.

I listen to podcasts at least 3-4 hours per day on a light day. The features in this app are the best available. It does however have an issue where is crashes very regularly and more so as time goes on. iOS 10 seems to have made this issue worse. Using an iPhone 6 and been using the app for a year. Started crashing relatively early on, but now it happens half a dozen times in a day.... And despite this huge hang up Id rather use Downcast than any others simply because of the power behind it. Also the companion Mac app is a major plus! Everything since to the degree you choose. Pretty great!! If you are looking for something solid and reliable but with fewer bells and whistles then go for Overcast instead. Its easy to use and still fairly customizable.

This was the best podcasting app but NOW IT CONSTANTLY CRASHES!

Works super well on iOS, even with password-protected podcast feeds.

Im a longtime fan of this app, the best for podcasts. Its stumbled now and then keeping up with new iOS versions but then they get right back up and knock it out of the park. Keep it up!

This crashes habitually now. It used to be fast and beautifully stable. I certainly hope they address the matter quickly, because its nearly unusable right now.

No ideal what happen to one of the good podcast apps. Constant crashing all the time. Does not like to be run in the back ground lately as when you mute or use the phone downcast crashes and you have to reload the app to continue listening. Ever since iOS 9 this app has been plagued with issues and warning anyone to avoid this app. There has been some app updates but never have had it work correctly in years. I am done with this app and moving on.

Ive been using this fantastic app every day for years. But its buggy since the ios 10 update and needs a patch.
