In portrait mode in iOS 9, the podcast info text now doesnt appear on the player screen - the blurred background of the podcasts graphic shows, but no text. Theres also no graphic icon at the top of the player screen. Everything appears normal in landscape mode.

Than default app. A happy buyer

Love the app, use it everyday and have been using it for years! But like another reviewer the recent update has bricked the watch app player. To be fair I dont like the watch app that much. Its not as fluid or fast as the music app (Feels like a WatchOS 1 app vs WatchOS 2). The buttons are also pretty small on even a 42mm. The music glance can control Downcast in the background and thats just faster and easier to use. But when you want to skip ahead more than the presets or change tracks completely the app works well, until of course this update. Please fix!

I subscribe to 70 or more podcasts. Downcast manages my subscriptions so much better than any other podcast app Ive tried. I use iCloud to back everything up - when I upgraded from an iPhone 5 to an iPhone 6s Plus every subscription and downloaded episode was there exactly as it had been on the old phone. I can configure how I want each subscription to behave individually - do I want new episodes to download automatically or not? Do I want to automatically download all new episodes or just the most recent? Many more options. I can create as many playlists as I wants do determine how each playlist should behave. I cant imagine not having this app as I listen to podcasts every day and no other podcast app Ive tried comes close to this one.

Constantly failing to download episodes. I have to delete my programs and reload just to get new episodes.

This is a very, very good podcatcher - far superior to iOS’s built-in one, which I found constantly downloaded podcasts that I had already listened to and deleted. Downcast does everything right. It is clearly being updated regularly and I have found the service to be extremely responsive.

This used to be my favourite app but lately, every time theres an update, I have to delete the app, reinstall and find all my video casts AGAIN! Now its not even taking URLs that it used to. NOT HAPPY since its a paid for app. And now, it wont load videos. Cut the crap, Downcast! Fix this or I want my $$ back.

IMHO its the best for people with a lot of podcasts (because of the organization options). Its so slow tho. The feeds refresh very slowly and lag the app to the point where its almost unusable. Im also missing the smart speed feature from Overcast. Please fix the speed issue.

Since the latest update, this app is so slow and crashes all the time. Why?

Geez what an awful update. This app has gone down hill so much I dont think itll ever recover.

This app is useless garbage.

Tries to open and crashes immediately on iOS 9.3.1. on iPhone. Same version on iPad is fine. Plenty of space on iPhone so Im not sure why it crashes.

Ive really grown to love this app. One of the reasons is that I dont listen to the same number of episodes from each of my subscriptions. Downcast allows me to set local settings per podcast for some things, and keep global settings for other things for all my subscriptions. Love it!

Ive tried all of the other options available on the iPhone and none of them come close to Downcast. Very customizable. Perfect for making playlists. For the amount of time that I spend listening to podcasts, the price is insignificant.

Please fix the app from crashing whenever I push the back button to get back to my playlist.

Awesome app.

Finally an app which does all the things I want, capable of subscribing to any podcast, and operates smoothly. Automatic downloads for the podcasts you choose, personalized playlists, continuous play options, priority sorting, up-to-the-minute with new episode availability, fast-loading archives. Overcast, Castro, Stitcher, PodcastAddict, RSS apps all had shortcomings in one or more of these areas. The one thing that this app lacks is a strong search feature. I would love to search the name of a musician or comedian and find every podcast that they were a guest for and this app doesnt even find some podcasts when you type the name of the podcast. Search engine must improve.

Definitely recommended. Get it if you do a lot of podcasting!
