The best podcast app there is!

Downcast is still one of the most full-featured, quality podcast apps on the market. This is the power-user tool you’ve been looking for. This trend continues in this recent release, as even more features have been added (like Picture-in-Picture support). Unfortunately, I cannot give it five stars because there are still lingering syncing issues between multiple devices and/or their Mac app. The developer keeps working on it… hopefully he will kill the bug(s) soon. Otherwise this is a great app and worth supporting.

The major bugs on iPad seem to be fixed, and we finally get picture in picture! Next would like to see slide over and split view support.

I see that you guys made the top banner slimmer for on screen controls (which helps!), but the bottom banner needs to be compressed as well (for iPhone). That way we can see more content when accessing playback controls. Also, Would love to see 3D Touch implemented in a meaningful way.

Downcast is like a multi-tool. If you have a fussy podcast file or want to play something you’ve saved, this is the thing to use. I love it.

Ive had this app for about 4 years now. I listen to a lot of podcast so I decided to purchase this app and it was awesome! Really liked it! Few years go by and a lot of updates along the way and noticed a few hiccups with the app but no biggie! This last update hit a new low. Crashes daily, wont respond when I tap play a lot of the time, and also delay when trying to explore through the app. I dont know what happened but it just bums me out.

There are some fine podcast apps but NONE of them as complete as Downcast. If you want a full featured podcast player without annoying limitations, this is it. Downcast has a Mac app and Apple Watch app too...a complete solution worth every penny.

Love the configurable playlists and the ability to set each podcasts priority. I switched to Downcast when the built-in Podcasts app started crashing for me in iOS 9. It has been more stable than that, though there have been occasional glitches (e.g. for a while, it wasnt seeing new episodes of Fresh Air). Well worth the price, and Ill stick with it because of the features.

This update is very crashy. As long as you dont touch anything it works well. But tap the back arrow to get back to a playlist and it will crash more times than not.

New release solved the previous problems I was having. Downcast has more functionality than other podcast apps, and its clean and easy to use.

Works great if you have a long playlist and just let it play. If you want to LOOK at the playlist, or anything else in the app, it will likely crash. This app used to be awesome, now not so much.

I love this app and listen daily. They have a huge assortment of podcasts, nicely categorized. Great!

This used to be a great app. But then they kept trying to add more things. Now it freezes after an unlock for some reason, until it catches up with itself or something. Or it will just randomly crash. All from bugs introduced recently, but wont get fixed for some users as they have dropped support for iOS 8. How do you drop support for an OS that is only 1.5 years old? Looks like Im on the hunt for something new.

No matter what settings I use my podcast list will not update without me manually doing it. So whats the point of the refresh interval in the app??

Ive tried many different apps to listen to various Podcasts, both music and spoken word. The right things are configurable and it just works! For the amount of time this app gets used, how much it enhances my phone, totally worth every penny, a hundred-fold... Well done!!!

I say this because this app just plain works and I dont even think about it. Ive been using it for several years I sync it between two phones and an iPad. iCloud sync can sometimes be a bit flaky but I think it works better now than it ever has. Every now and then some other podcast app catches my fancy for a few days but I always come home when I see how it just doesnt compare. Top on my list is the ability to switch from video to audio seamlessly. Love it

The most exciting app Ive got. Podcasts are great and this app just makes them flow! Ive recommended it to many of my friends.

This is a great app. Always bringing new and useful functionalities. I still use it on my old iPod touch, as well as in my current iPhone.

I thought several of my favorite podcasts had ceased to exist. I discovered Downcast was not updating these podcasts by finding and playing them on other podcasts apps. Downcast product support does not respond to email complaints.
